THE WARLORD WANTS FOREVER – Kresley Cole

Kresely Cole writes some of the steamiest scenes in the industry. And her Valkyries have been and will always be my favorite characters in the Immortals After Dark Series.

In this short story we get to follow vampire Nikolai Wroth and valkyrie Myst the Coveted as they discover that Myst is Nikolai’s fated Bride; his one true match. There’s just one slight issue….the valkyries and vampires are at war. And if Nikolai takes possession of Myst she will be well and truly screwed. And she just might like it.

I love the fact that Cole’s females are always as bad ass as the males in her stories. Myst had fallen for Nikolai when she heard tales of him as a human warlord so now that he was an immortal warlord she’s impressed even more. It’s been foretold that her true match in battle will be the one she falls for and Nikolai is just that man. The electricity (no pun intended) between the two of them is insane! Myst uses men as weapons in war and Nikolai starts off as just any other until he tries to win her over by vowing to her as no vampire or man has ever before.

I’ve loved the IAD series from the start and it was amazing to get another sneak peek into their world!

FORSAKEN BY NIGHT – Larissa Ione

I love stories that pull form Native American legends and Larissa Ione’s MoonBound Clan Vampire Series does not disappoint!

Lobo has been ostracized for years by the MoonBound clan due to his heritage; skinwalkers are shunned and frowned upon in the vampire world. When he has no hope left, he finds a near-death wolf, Tehya, and their bond becomes so strong and keeps them both alive. Years laters when Tehya is shot by poachers, Lobo risks it all to save her again. He knows the only way she can survive is if the MoonBound clan steps in. What he didn’t count on was that her injury would force her to shift back in to her human form; one he didn’t know existed.

Tehya and Lobo’s willingness to save one another throughout their journey reminds me a of old tales of how true love can overcome all obstacles. I’ve only read the first book in this series but I know that book 2 will soon be on my reading list!

DARK SWAN – GENA SHOWALTER

One of my queens! I love anything and everything by Gena Showalter and this short story back into the world of the Otherworld Assassins Series does not disappoint.

Lilica Swan and her two sisters were born in a lab and experimented on their whole lives for their handful of otherworld abilities. Lilac, dubbed Lady Wicked, has made it her mission to survive and never back down so she can protect and save her sisters. But when Alien Investigation Agent Dallas Gutierrez steps in and throws temptation in her face, her plan goes haywire.

The last thing Dallas expected was the temptress of his dreams to be a real and tangible prisoner caught in a war on disease in the new world. Lilica and Dallas can hardly fight the strong pull between them, especially when Lilica discovers that Dallas is her mate and at their bond goes far deeper than the one with her sisters. Dallas has to decide between his loyalty to his job and the love of his life.

My favorite part of this story was the fact that Lilica and Dallas had so many telepathic conversations and sensations to one another. The pull between these two was unbelievably strong and sensual. I missed the Otherworld Assassins series so much!!!

Until next review!!! Happy Bingeing Beauties!
