house mate_amazonWhat’s sexier than a bad boy? A bad ass man who’s got his shit together.

Max Alexander is nearing thirty-five. He’s built a successful company, and he’s conquered the professional world, but he’s never been lucky in love. Focusing so much time on his business and raising his daughter, adulting has come at the expense of his personal life.

His social skills are shit, his patience is shot, and at times, his temper runs hot.

The last thing he has time for is the recently single, too gorgeous for her own good young woman he hires to take care of his little girl. She’s a distraction he doesn’t need, and besides, there’s no way she’d be interested. But you know what they say about assumptions?

This is book 3 in the Roommates series, but each book can be read as a complete standalone as they all feature new couples to fall in love with.

Music Break: Jay Crownover’s HONOR

I was fortunate enough to win a signed copy of Jay Crownover‘s latest Point Novel HONOR and let me tell you…the chemistry between Nassir and Honor is IN-SANE. Nassir is hands down the HOTTEST devil around.

Immediately reminded of the wicked play that goes on in In This Moment‘s Bones from their Black Widow album.

Tune in while you crack the spine when HONOR comes out NEXT WEEK (Oh my GODS it’s out next week!!). #LOVEISHELL

In Safe Hands – A Katie Ruggle Review

**ARC received from NetGalley for an honest review**

Katie Ruggle closes out with a BANG! The Rocky Mountain Search and Rescue has come to a close with In Safe Hands and the action has never been better.

Daisy is agoraphobic after witnessing the death of her mother in a horrible robbery at 16. You’d think that would make for little to no love life. But the deputy that rescued her, Chris Jennings, has become her best friend over the years. And it’s become much more on Daisy’s end right when the murders, fires, and mysteries of this small Colorado mountain town come to a crest and Daisy’s in the crosshairs of the killer.

I have yet to read a book that does such an amazing job as  In Safe Hands when it comes to a budding romance between two best friends. Daisy and Chris have such a wonderful friendship with small nuances of what could be more. Daisy is also this kick-ass fitness guru! I love that Chris has been training her with self defense and that helps to bring in all the girls from the RMS&R crew together. It’s when all the puzzle pieces from each story begin to unfold that they begin to find out that all of their troubles have been related.

When I finished Gone Too Deep, Book 3, I was STUNNED at the ending as to whom the true killer was in this crazy town. Spending this entire book knowing The Sheriff was nerve wracking but in such a delightful way! I love stories that show the other side of the story as far as good-guy / bad-guy. Juggle’s was so carefully planned over 4 stories that it made for one hell of a ride.

Hoping for more soon from Katie Ruggle! Until next time…. Happy Bingeing Beauties!

P.S. George will ALWAYS be my favorite 🙂

#BOOKISHBOX – Outlander Box

Y’all this box..I couldn’t even wait to leave the post parking lot to open it! Let’s get to this review!

The shirt quote is, as always with Appraising Pages, perfect and fully embodies Jamie and Claire. I admit I’m a sucker and haven’t finished book 1! I started with the show by watching episode 1 while on vacation with my sister and immediately knew I wanted the books. When I got home i started reading and watching an episode at a time so I was at the same pace. But I stopped right before The Wedding and sometimes…juuuuust sometimes the picture is better than the words because whoo lord those two…. But one day I WILL catch up with the books! For now I’ll settle on watching my Jamie and Claire.

The Lexy Olivia bookmark! I fear I may need to buy this girl out of house and home! Her bookmarks are always my favorite. And I was about to purchase the “Sassenach” one when this came in the mail! Although I’m sure I’ll still buy it… This lovely quote from Jamie will definitely do for now.

The Geeky Caldron’s beautiful Sassenach bangle is perfect! Silver is my jewelry color and I’m proudly wearing this beauty with the rest of my baubles. From The Page‘s “Claire’s Pressed Flowers” candle smells so pretty! I love lavendar! I’ll need to buy a bigger one soon.

My other favorite piece of this box was the tumbler. The triquetra is one of my own symbols that I resonate with and paired  with Claire’s quote…I’m in awe of how perfect this really is.

“Sometimes I feel very much a stranger in a strange land.”

Shadow Silence – A Yasmine Galenorn Review

**ARC Received from NetGalley for an honest review**

Yasmine Galenorn has been one of the most descriptive writers I’ve ever read. Her magical worlds fall off the page and create such beautiful imagery that I always want to jump right into the story.

For the second book in the Whisper Hollow Series, Shadow Silence,  we come back to Kerris Fellwater as a cold winter begins to settle into the town. Everyone knows the towns rules regarding the Lady of the Lake and the victims she claims. But when her best friend, Peggin, is in her clutches, Kerris must do whatever it takes to save her.

Peggin falls under the spell of the Lady and nearly dies multiple times. Kerris is so incredibly intelligent when it comes to putting the puzzle pieces together. A dream that leads to an accident, which then leads to a long dead secret hidden away beneath ANOTHER secret. Peggin was brave in her withstanding to survive the Lady’s curse. And sneaking in the background are the mangy Hounds with whom we may have a major player coming to visit Whisper Hollow soon. CAN’T WAIT!

I absolutely love Kerris Fellwater. I have managed to fall for each character Galenorn has created but Kerris has become my all time favorite. She’s so solidly strong and supportive in her beliefs and values that I find myself wishing to be more like her. The continuing romance between her and her guarding, Bryan was perfectly laid out. How the two discover that they’ve fallen for one another is just beautifully told.

On par with Galenorn and her magnificently terrifying companion: we finally meet Veronica, Queen of the Dead. In what has to be one of THE best sounding introductions EVER. 3 words: THRONE OF BONES. I tend to be wary of these creatures Galenorn’s main characters must partner with and yes Veronica is deadly but I want to see her in all her glory! Hoping there’s more to come with her in the series.

Love love loved getting the chance to review Shadow Silence and can’t wait for more from Yasmine Galenorn in the Whisper Hollow Series!

Until next review…Happy Bingeing Beauties!

XOXO Nalla

#BookishBox – September 2016

Hi Beauties! As promised here is the September Bookish Box review. This month’s theme: Literary Ladies!

Lots of little things in this box, but none of them too little to matter! There is a pair of J&CO Jewelry LeviosA earrings. These are b-e-a-utiful!  Perfectly small and matches the Hermione t-shirt from Appraising Pages. Love the red color of this shirt.

Bookish Box also included their bookworm highlighter/pen combo and  Matilda quoted sticky notes! Matilda was such a great movie and I remember watching it as a kid many times. There’s also an awesome button magnet from Jar of Button stating “Females are strong as hell”. Boyfriend will have to deal with that on our fridge!

The Pride and Prejudice tea from First Edition Tea Co. makes me want to brew a batch and watch Austenland…THAT is a hilarious movie, haven’t read the book yet. I’m loving the Katniss arrow pen and highlighter holder from Nonies Custom Creations; that will definitely be going in my planner!

Lastly..another beautiful watercolor bookmark from Lexy Olivia! This one was actually on my wish list and is from Throne of Glass!

Can’t wait for the October box…and I should have a one time box review coming soon!

The Fix Up – A Kendall Ryan Exclusive

The Fix Up Kendall Ryan ebook cover

From New York Times Bestseller, Kendall Ryan, comes a sexy new standalone novel.

My tempting, and very alpha friend Sterling Quinn is someone I consider off-limits.

It’s not just that we’re friends, he’s also cocky, confident, and British, which means he’s a walking aphrodisiac.

But lately he’s been giving me the look. You know the one. When he thinks I’m not paying attention, and his gaze lingers for too long.

And then we start working together, and that’s when the sexual tension between us gets so thick, I want to hack through it with a machete. I want to make all these deep feelings I’ve harbored for him disappear, because there’s no way this can end well.

The lines between business and pleasure become irrevocably blurred, and I’m stuck between a rock, and Sterling’s very, very hard place.

Rather than keep a level head about our growing attraction, Sterling wants to go all in, showing me just how explosive we can be together.

But I’ve been around long enough to know that this British bad boy is more than my heart can handle. I’m not about to be cast aside like yesterday’s underwear when he’s done having fun.

Sterling’s never been told no, and he’s not about to put his ego aside and play by my rules. But I never thought he’d fight so dirty.

“Hey, Camryn. Did I forget something at your office?” he asks.

“No, I just . . . I had some questions for you about tomorrow.”

“Of course. What’s on your mind?”

“Well, when you said hang out, what did you mean?”

Anna’s hand flies over her mouth and her eyes widen.

No sense in beating around the bush.

I can almost hear the smile in Sterling’s voice when he replies. “What do you want it to mean?”

Straightening my shoulders, I sit up taller in my chair. “Oh no, you don’t, mister. Before I agree to spend time with you, there are a few things I need to know.”

“Go for it.”

“How many women have you slept with?”

“Pardon?” Sterling coughs.

Anna is on her feet, making slashing motions across her throat with her hand.

“Your number. What is it?” My tone is calm, controlled. I’m actually enjoying this.

“Is that information you need as my publicist, or as the woman I’ve asked to hang out?”

“Just answer the question, Sterling. Or can you not count that high?”

He lets out a sigh, so brief I barely heard it. For a second, I’m sure he’s going to dodge the question. “Enough to know what I’m doing. Not enough to make me a total fucking wanker.”

I laugh, despite myself. It’s actually a good response.

“Let me make this clear for you. I like you, Camryn. We’re both adults, and there’s no reason why we can’t hang out and enjoy each other’s company without it turning weird.”

What the hell does that mean? I’m more confused now than before. Maybe this is his last hurrah before becoming a married man.

“I’m not quite sure what to say.”

“We have fun together. Let’s keep it casual and fun; we both deserve that.”

The man has a point.

“But you’re about to be married,” I say.

“Not tomorrow. Not the next day.”

“But soon.”

He exhales. “Yes, and that’s kind of stressing me the fuck out, so I could use a little downtime with someone who gets me.”

I swallow.

“Say yes,” he murmurs.

“Sterling . . .”

“I would never hurt you,” he adds softly.

“Fine, but I’m not having sex with you.”

Anna is now lying on the floor of my office, her face scrunched up in agony, her head in her hands.

“We’ll see,” he says.

A girly bubble of laughter escapes my lips, and I clamp a hand over my mouth. I want to bitch-slap myself for that outburst. But Sterling only seems amused.
