Be prepared for the quintessential cute, sweet, and downright sexy style of Kendall Ryan in this newest romcom! In a freak chance, Emmet and Jenna are trapped in an elevator and end up making small talk about why they are there. She’s there to get a baby on her own. Emmet works in the building but there’s something about Jenna that he can’t quite put his finger on. So he takes a shot asking Jenna to give him a chance to be the father. Its preposterous and outlandish but it just might work as he’s too busy working and refuses to be an absent father. So now we test the waters…
Jenna and Emmet are so awkward with one another that I know I had some interesting reading-faces throughout this whole book! Jenna seems to be proper and very blunt but there’s a wild side to her that Emmet gets to slowly unwrap as they spend more and more time together. I liked that they got to slowly grow as friends even in this most strange of circumstances. There’s an easiness to there friendship and it comes with struggle. Until both Emmet and Jenna realize they want more and are too afraid to ask!
You ever have a hero and a heroine that are so perfect together and you just wanna smash em towards on another and go “JUST TELL HER YOU LOVER HER YOU DOPE!”? That’s the sensation through the back end of Baby Daddy. Emmet begins to realize that he’s more than heir of his father’s business. He’s a man that can be a partner int he boardroom as well as the bedroom. Jenna is still too worried to trust a man in her life. And the climax (hah! pun!) that holds their relationship from truly developing is a DOOZY! No spoilers here…just read on my peeps!
A hot and hilarious new standalone from New York Times bestseller Kendall Ryan.
We met in a trapped elevator.
Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie.
I was on my way to the sperm bank. Awkward, right?
At thirty-five, my life hadn’t taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting—I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen.
After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner—he also insisted on something else—that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy. He was a wealthy and powerful CEO with little interest in diapers or playdates. And since he didn’t want kids, I’d be on my own once his bun was in my oven, free to go my own way.
But once his baby was inside me, it was like a switch had been flipped, and I got a whole lot more than I ever bargained for.
This full-length standalone contains a hot, swoonworthy hero, lots of playful banter and some hot baby-making ! Enjoy.
