“In the remote Rocky Mountains, lives depend on the search and rescue brotherhood, but in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can be murder”
**ARC received from NetGalley for an honest review**
Katie Ruggle’s latest in her Search and Rescue series, GONE TOO DEEP, hits all the right marks.
Ellie Price is a relatable city girl who’s everyday life is normal beyond compare, but when a cryptic phone call from her estranged, mentally ill father causes Ellie to fear he may be in danger for real….her life takes a drastic turn for the rocky mountains.
Life in Simpson is quiet and normal…if you don’t count the mysterious murders and rampaging psychos that creep in the dark of the small Colorado town.
George Holloway is a man of few words…and they mean that literally…he doesn’t speak until a few chapters in to the book! But whew is this mountain man WORTH THE WAIT. Not only does he agree to escort Ellie though the woods to find her missing father his small acts of care and worry over her make you fall for him immediately. The man literally sweeps her off her feet when hey first meet!
Although George and Ellie fear their biggest threat is the wilderness during their 3 day hike, little do they know that the danger Ellie’s father feared knows they’re coming and has added them to their list of deadly conquests.
Juggling the elements, murderers, a wise-cracking coffee barista, and a hands-on-in-the-wrong-way native, Ellie and George battle the forces of nature and the forces of their hearts.
Oh and just when you think that customary happy ever after has arrived and closed out this story? Trust me….you wanna read every…last…word…
Until next review!!! Happy Bingeing Beauties!
