DRAMA! This is Kennedy Fox’s most tense and seat-gripping romances yet. Read the blurb if you want to read my review otherwise some crazy twists will be spoiled for you. Hunter sees Lennon across the bar and sparks fricking FLY. Quick banter, insatiable flirting; these two were a match. But Hunter working the bar means he can’t get back to Lennon before the end of the night. When he wakes the next morning to find her in his kitchen after a night of being with his roommate, he’s heartbroken. When she stays with him for two years and ends up moving in; he’s destroyed. It’s a fine line between love and hate and Hunter decides to take his pain for losing Lennon out on her. Mean, a total jerk, and an all-around frat boy; Hunter pines for her beneath his attitude.
Lennon doesn’t know why Hunter is so rude to her after their initial meeting was fun. (GIRL, the stupid saying of boys being mean to girls because they like them is unfortunately TRUE HERE) I was clenching the entire time I read this book knowing what was coming. I wanted to hate Brandon, who stood between them; but i just fricking couldn’t! He was sweet, caring, funny, and truly loved Lennon. I was actually upset with his fate! (menages are a thing KF!!!) But even with all that, I wanted to see Hunter take care of Lennon at her worst. A flip switches within him and now he has no choice but to care for the woman he loves as she mourns another man. #HeartBROKEN
I saw some earlier reviews/reactions to the ending and was terrified of what else KF would throw readers way. Their duets are known to have the worst cliff hangers but oh so tempting ones. But for the first time ever, I was truly disappointed by this ending. It turns out there is such a thing as too much drama and it pulled me out of the story. I was simultaneously let down and relieved it wasn’t as bad as what my mind had designed. That being said; this is the first romance I’ve read that truly showed so much of the previous relationship and made me (and maybe other readers) question their hero-loyalty. I need book two know because….whew there is a LOT for Hunter and Lennon to get through still.
I saw her first.
Blonde. Gorgeous. Feisty.
I was smitten.
But it didn’t matter because she chose him and he was my best friend and roommate. I’d never be able to compete with that, so I pushed her away instead. It was easy when she lived hours away, and I didn’t have to see her every day, but then she moved in with us.
Now, I’m screwed.
To her singing in the shower every morning, dancing in the kitchen while she makes coffee, and doing yoga in our living room, I can’t stop thinking about her in all the wrong ways. She’s not mine and never will be, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to push her against a wall and claim her mouth.
She’s constantly on me for making messes, bringing chicks home every weekend, and being a smartass when their PDA gets on my nerves. Considering neither of them know how I feel, it’s not fair for the way I act toward them. I should move out so I can get over her for good; however, the selfish part of me can’t let go.
But then the unthinkable happens…
When my best friend dies in a motorcycle accident, the two of us are left to grieve our loss together. Instead of pushing her away, I pull her closer.
Just as we come to terms with our new reality, she finds out she’s pregnant with his baby.
And I’m left to make the hardest decision of my life…
