Just when you thought things had quieted down in small-town Monroe, Colorado…
Injured and trying to handle not being on duty, Hugh comes across a new woman in town, Grace (aka Kaylee) and knows there’s a bigger secret behind he innocent eyes. But when the bullets literally fly around them the minute they get close…he’s got a bit more skepticism than he thought.
Kaylee, now Grace, is in hiding from something she never thought she’d witness. Now the small town cop, Hugh, seems to be sticking by her side and she fears he’s going to find out her secrets. Can she trust him, when she trust no one else?
Kaylee is a surprisingly strong character after her escape from a seemingly psychotic man. Throughout this story she sees so many different sides to Hugh that make her trust him more and more. Hugh isn’t your typical romance hero; he’s sweet alright but he’s got this inability to be his own comedic relief. Amidst all the action you’ll find yourself laughing at his sense of humor and then being swept off your feet when he rescues Grace over and over.
With help from Theo and Jules from Run to Ground, there’s more to this story than just what Grace is trying to run from. Even sweet-talking Hugh can have someone after him…Can’t wait for more!
Injured in the line of duty,
His orders are simple:
But when a frightened woman bursts into his life, Hugh and his K9 companion have no choice but to risk everything to keep her safe.
After witnessing a horrifying crime, Kaylee is forced to flee to a small Colorado mountain town and take on a new identity. There she becomes Grace, a dog kennel worker trying to avoid the dangerously attractive K-9 Officer Hugh Murdoch.
When an accident leaves Hugh and his K-9 partner, Lexi, on desk duty, both are anxious for Hugh to heal. Until then, the highlight of his day is teasing the beautiful but mysterious new kennel employee. Their simmering attraction fuels a passionate kiss—interrupted by a sniper’s bullet. With targets on both of their backs, Grace and Hugh will do whatever it takes to stay alive…not realizing the most dangerous threat of all is hiding right in front of their noses.
