FAKING IT – A K. Bromberg Review & Excerpt Reveal

There was a taste of enemies-to-lovers in Bromberg’s last release, Control, and I lamented that i wanted more of it ( i LOVE that tensions!). Well I’ve gotten my wish! Filled with sass, bashing heads, and sexual tension through the ROOF, Faking It is a fantastic new romance to add to your collection. Under a sliiiight mishap Zane mistakes Harlow as his dog walker and instantly sparks disdain in her eyes. A battle of wits and wills ensues as Harlow puts, or attempts to put Zane in his place. When she walks into his meeting with an investor and slips a little lie in as his new spokesperson Not one to back down, Zane reinforces the lie. Unknowingly they’ve now locked themselves in a relationship that will be under the eye of the public as the promote a dating service. Two months turns into the road trip from hell.

He’s cocky, she’s mouthy. Give me all the angst! Zane is a womanizer and Harlow knows it. She calls him on his ways at every moment. While they smile in front of the camera, and to their investor behind the scenes that are spitfire of emotions. Only two people who are wildly attracted to one another would fight that out.Zane is convinced that they can have a bit of fun and work out their frustrations while on the road. Harlow falls for his charms…more than once. But now she has to fight the hope that they’ll ever be more. The lie they tell on camera is beginning to go to her head.

Harlow secretly hopes for the fairy tale happy ever after her mother still believes in. Zane’s cockiness is beginning to move aside for his sweeter and more caring side. Compliments and caring for her are paving the path to prince charming. But when push comes to shove, Harlow knows their “romance” has a limited timeline. Rather than get hurt, she leaves before Zane has the chance to truly break her. Zane, after revealing more to Harlow than he has to any one before, fears he may have let his one chance at love walk out the door. But what will this cocky playboy do just to win her back in to his heart?

Zane Phillips mistook me for his dog walker. It shouldn’t surprise me that the man with a suit more expensive than my rent would assume that I was there to serve him. The positive? I put him in his place. The negative? I missed my job interview because of it. Now I find out he’s a rich Australian entrepreneur, and he wants to make up for tanking my interview.

Yes, he’s impossibly hot – but he’s also an arrogant jackass – so…no thanks.

But after a little white lie I tell spirals out of control, I’m somehow offered the chance to play Zane’s girlfriend to help promote his new dating website – and the best part? He can’t say no because he’ll get caught in his lie, too.

Little did I know this would entail sharing a tour bus with him for the next few months. The fact that the bus has just one bed isn’t the most ideal of circumstances, but this spokesperson gig might be the kick in the pants my career needs, so why not take a chance?

Famous last words.

Now I’m crisscrossing the country – and sharing that bed – with the one guy I can’t stand. And even worse, my traitorous body is wondering at every turn what it’s like to be down under the gorgeous Australian. But as the miles unfurl, so does our passion…and if I’m not careful, I might end up believing that fairy tales really do come true.

Text Kbromberg to 77948 to stay up to date on all things, Driven movies and new releases!

“I have connections.” Brilliant, Zane. Fucking brilliant. That’s how you get her to not run away from you? By giving her a sleazy line? “Maybe I could help you find something.”

“I couldn’t care less about your connections.” She hangs her head and when she lifts it, I watch her reign in the pride I feel like a dick for bruising. “I’m sorry. That was rude. Like I said, thank you.” She holds up the papers and offers a reticent smile.

“Look . . .” I take a step toward her, more than aware that I don’t want her to go just yet and questioning why I’m even bringing this up. “I have an event I’m holding at the end of the week. You should come. I could introduce you to some people. There might be some job opportunities there.”

“Thanks, but no thanks. I’m not that kind of girl.” The roll of her eyes has me realizing how she took my comment.

My laugh makes my dog lift her head. “That’s not exactly what I meant, Harlow. I run a matchmaking website, not an escort service.”

“Good to know. So basically that means you cherry pick the women you want to date after you scope out all their information. I assure you now I can sleep better at night knowing this.”

“You’re exhausting.” And she is, but in the most fascinating of ways.

“You’re one to talk.” She crosses her arms over her chest and lifts her eyebrows.

I hold my hands up. “All I was trying to say is connections matter in this town. You and I both know that. My event . . . there is going to be a lot of people there. Industry people,” I say more than aware I just let it slip that I looked her up and know she works in the industry.

“Good. Great. Can you go now?”

But there’s a crack of a smile on her face. A chink in her defensive armor that tells me I’m getting somewhere.

“You have to take opportunities when they present themselves.” She doesn’t say anything but the slight smile remains. “Zane Phillips. Nice to meet you.” I stick my hand out. She looks down at it and nods but doesn’t shake it.

God, she’s stubborn.

And damn gorgeous.

“And you’re Harlow Nicks.”

“Considering you had my electric bill, I guess that means you know how to read.”

“I do.” I nod. “And I also have your email address from your interview paperwork.”

“Should I worry that you’re stalking me?”

I shake my head and sigh. “I’ll email you the information about the party—”

“—don’t bother—”

“—it’s on Friday night. Cocktail attire. Lots of networking.”

“I won’t read it.”

I flash a megawatt smile at her and then turn to walk away. “Yes, you will.”

And she will.

It’s rare that a woman resists me. She’s trying but I’ll win in the end. It just seems for the time being that I have my work cut out for me.

I’m a man who always has an end goal in mind. Always.

There’s no point in setting a goal if you don’t plan on smashing it.

Question is, what in the hell am I aiming for when it comes to Harlow Nicks?

CONTROL – A K. Bromberg Review & Excerpt Reveal

1118181

I love the 1001 Dark Nights series because it’s more than just a sneak peek into an author’s series, it’s a splash into that author’s voice and style. K Bromberg is stellar at writing drama mixed with sex and romance. Control is a stunning look into her Everyday Heroes series and shows how two lost people can find happiness with each other.

After a home invasion, Desi’s attitude changed from life of the party to homebody. Every sound and shadow makes her jump but she’s determined to brush it all aside and move on with her life. A self defense class is just what she needs; but it turns out her hot new neighbor is her instructor and he’s set his sights on her. Reznor is built and mysterious but he keeps showing up just when she needs help. The more time she spends around him the more he shows what lies beneath the gruff exterior. And one night of weakness starts a romance she wasn’t prepared to handle.

Reznor is dedicated to his SWAT team but a bad call has left him with regrets he’s not sure he can come to terms with. Some time off in his buddy’s hometown should give him perspective. The unplanned brightness to his time away, his neighbor Desi. She’s spunky and sexy as hell but there’s a shadow in her eyes that he can’t help but want to protect her from. The two of them have undeniable chemistry and after a few nights together, Reznor finds himself opening up to Desi like he never has before and when all he’s known is quick flings, Desi’s got staying power. He just has to help her out of her head  and back to reality when it comes to protecting herself.

A stubborn hero meets a hard-headed heroine and sparks fly as tensions turn to romance. Will Desi’s stalker be caught? Will Reznor be able to help her stay safe? This afternoon read is filled with emotion and drama that will suck you in and never leg you go. Mix in some mysterious action with this romance and it’s a WIN.

“K. Bromberg always delivers intelligently written, emotionally intense, sensual romance . . .”

USA Today

Excerpt CKBRER.png

“I’ll tell you what, Desi Whitman. I think you’re a chicken. I think you hide behind your preconceived notions out of principle—or at least that’s what you label it, but fear is fear. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.” My hands still and my eyes meet his in the reflection of the window in front of me. “The question is, how bad do you want it? How bad do you want to see where this might go between us? A few nights of sex? A few dates? Anything. Something. When will you push yourself to think that it’s okay?”

“I already told you, I know who I am, and I know what I want out of life.”

“You did…but that’s before you met someone who changed that.”

I spin around and glare at him. He’s thinking too much into this. “Down, boy. It’s sex. One time. That’s it.”

“Two times,” he counters and lifts his eyebrows.

“Two?”

“Sweetheart, we may not have been touching, but you can’t deny we f*cked each other across this space.” He points to his house and back, but his eyes never leave mine. “You can call it semantics. You can say it didn’t happen, but I’ll fight you on that. Watching you was hotter than hell. You came for me. And next time you do, I’ll be buried in you.”

His words evoke too many things I don’t want to think about but can’t seem to avoid thinking of late.

“That’s presumptuous,” I say simply, because I have nothing else to say.

His chuckle is back and so is that look in his eye that’s part challenge, part predator. “You’re only pushing me away because you know it’s good—we’re good—and you’re afraid you’re only going to like it more.”

“Why are you here, Reznor?” I shove my hands on my hips so I don’t reach out and touch him.

I can see him question which answer he should give. The one we both know—that he wants to sleep with me again—or the underlying reason. “You didn’t show up to class again.”

“And I called Bear ahead of time and let him know that something came up. That way you knew, he knew—”

“Why not walk across the yard and tell me?”

“Because I was…” avoiding you. Wanting you. Needing to keep my distance from you.

His smile is half-cocked. “That’s what I thought.” He takes a step toward me. “You want me as much as I want you…”

“I don’t—”

He holds his finger against my lips and says, “Shhh.” Our eyes hold as every part of my body vibrates from his touch. “I’m not a patient man, Desi…except when it comes to things I think are worth it.”

“Reznor—”

“Tell Jeff you’re off the market.” My spine stiffens at his order. “Because you’re worth it.”

And then, of course, the aftereffects of Reznor Mayne hit me—the flutter, the swoon, and the sag—as a smile slides across his lips and he dips his chin before walking out the back door without looking back.

The man is infuriating.

WORTH THE RISK – A K. Bromberg Reveal

“Bromberg is a master at turning up the heat.”

New York Times bestselling author Katy Evans

Worth the Risk, an all-new, sexy standalone about taking chances and finding love when it’s least expected, from New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg, is LIVE!

KBROMBERG_worth_riskebook

Synopsis

This whole contest was supposed to be easy. I know, I know. Famous last words.

It’s a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you’ve seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I’m successful, if I’m able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job.

But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number ten, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell?

Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. And while we might be older now, I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart, who hardened him, and who left him alone to raise the cutest little boy I’ve ever seen.

But I don’t want a relationship. And I definitely don’t fall for single dads with baggage. Even ones with chiseled abs and killer smiles.

But he got to me. They got to me. Him and his son and their messy, crazy life. But I got to him too. I see the stolen glances. I feel the walls he built start to crumble. I recognize that there’s an unexpected beauty to the chaos in his life.

And now that the contest is about to end, we’re left to decide whether the last six months were just fun or if what we have is worth risking it all?

WORTH THE RISK – A K. Bromberg Review

Excerpt WTR.png

But by the time I reach her, my blood boils with irrationality spurred on by too much alcohol.“Can I have a moment?” I ask as I walk up to her and grab her elbow, pushing her down the darkened hallway.“What is your problem?” She hisses as she fights me every step of the way.

We get looks. I get looks. I don’t care because all I keep seeing is Vince’s hands on her arm. His eyes on her tits. His bullshit game I can spot a mile away.

I find the closest door down the hallway leading to the bathrooms, and it opens. I push her through it, barely noticing that it’s an office of sorts before the door is shut, her back is up against it, and my mouth is covering hers.

Take.

Goddammit. That’s my only thought as I fit my lips to hers and take out my anger on her mouth with tongue and teeth and every fucking lick and nip in between.

“What—”

“I’m so pissed at you.”

It’s all I say. It’s the only chance I give her to come up for air before my lips are back on hers. Before my tongue wars with hers. Before my body admits it would beg, borrow, and steal in order to taste every other part of her.

Groan.

I swallow the tiny sound she makes in our kiss as my hands hold her neck still and my lips wage an all-out assault. She hesitates—just a split second—before she reacts. Before her body bows into me, and her mouth argues back.

Fist.

Her hand in my shirt. Her other hand at the back of my neck as our bodies meet—pressed knee to chest. Her perfume in my nose. Her hair tickling my cheeks. The feel of her tits against my chest.

Give.

I can’t get enough.

I’m mad at her.

I want her.

I don’t want to want her.

Christ, do I want her.

“Gray.” A murmured protest.

I tear my lips from hers, shove off the door I have her pressed against, and stride to the other side of the room.

“You are . . . you just . . .” It’s as if I can barely breathe. Christ, I’m mad at you.”

She stands there, lips parted, chest heaving, and golden brown curls messed from my hands, but her eyes look hurt. A hurt I don’t want to see but can’t deny.

“Why?”

“You did this,” I accuse as I try to manage the anger that’s waging a war against my desire.

“Did what?” Her eyes narrow. Her hand goes to press against her chest.

“Made me want you.”

for CGFC

Grayson: I’ve been thinking about you all day.

I look down at the text and smile before turning my attention back to Rissa and our plans for how we’re going to end this round of voting and move on to the top five.

“So, I think we close it out and then maybe take the next week and announce one of the finalists each day. Give little tidbits about each of them, make readers like them more, just have fun with it.”

My phone beeps again with another text, and I bite back the new grin trying to form on my lips. Rissa only huffs, eyeing my phone with annoyance. “Sorry, let me turn my ringer off.”

And then I have to feign nonchalance when I look down at my phone and find another text.

Grayson: My dick is rock hard, and it’s you I’m imagining. It’s in my hand when I’d rather it be in your mouth with my fingers in your pussy, working you into a frenzy.

“Is everything okay?” Rissa asks, making me realize I must have made a noise when I read the text. “You look startled.”

I glance back at the text again and shake my head while every part of my body comes to life. “Yeah, it’s, uh, fine.”

“Your ringer.” Her brows are lifted as she glances to my phone and then back to me.

My finger?” I squeak, thinking she saw the phone screen.

“Ringer. Sound on your phone.”

“Oh, yes . . . sorry.” Flustered, I fumble with my cell, and before I can even switch it off, another text alert pings.

Grayson: I want to bend you over and watch as my cock slides in and out of you.

“So back to next week . . .”

“Yes,” I swallow over the desire lodged in every place it should be and try not to glance at my phone as it vibrates again.

“Are you good with that plan?” Rissa asks as I shift in my seat to abate the sudden ache burning brighter than bright.

“Yes. Sure. I think that sounds like a great plan.”

Grayson: I want my cock buried so deep that you feel every damn inch of me.

“Are you sure you’re okay?”

“Yeah, why?” My voice breaks like a prepubescent teenager.

Grayson: I want you to come so hard you have to bite the pillow.

“You look a little flushed. Are you coming down with something?”

Grayson: You always have a choice. Isn’t that what you said to me once? Make a choice, Sidney. Isn’t it time to head to lunch?

“I mean, yeah, maybe.” I pull at my collar some. “Maybe that’s why I feel so flushed all of a sudden.”

Grayson: Meet me on the backside of The Cottages. Room Six. Fifteen minutes.

“Either that,” she says as she stands and heads to the door, only turning back to give me a wink, “or you’re guilty as hell. Maybe you should go take care of that itch texting you . . . or take some Tylenol. Whichever one it is, I think you should take the afternoon off.”

Grayson: Choose me.

“Oh.” It’s the only thing I can think to say because my brain is otherwise occupied imagining Grayson following through on his promises.

“And, Sid?”

“Yeah?”

“I sure hope he’s every bit worth breaking the rules.” She winks. “It’s about damn time. Your secret is safe with me.”

WORTH THE RISK – A K. Bromberg Review

Sexy. Heartfelt. Compassionate. Bromberg’s addition to the Malone brothers is filled with what ifs and maybes as a single dad and a hometown princess come together, drift apart, and clash again.

Sidney left her small hometown in the hopes of becoming a fashion magazine superstar in her fathers company. But with any young woman she’s had her ups and downs. Her latest drama has caused her father a huge dilemma: can she make it as an executive? Now she has to pass the test of helping run the family themed magazine in her hometown. Problem? She’s not the typical family values woman. It throw in a hot dad contest and one Grayson Malone and temptation takes on a whole new face. She’s got the smarts and the sweets but can she convince Grayson that happy ever after is the real deal?

Grayson doesn’t trust Sidney. Girls like her, the well off family kind, don’t ever turn out to be as sweet as they seem. Grayson knows better than most but he’s thankful it resulted in the sunshine that is his son. He’s raised him on his own and shown him what love truly means as they’ve gone about heir small town happy lives. But his troublesome brothers have a trick up their sleeve; they’ve entered him in a hot dad contest and the woman running it? None other than his ex’s beat friend and fellow princess Sidney. How can he trust her when she brings up so many memories of pain for him?

I LOVED Sidney and Grayson’s story. The perfect blend of insta-lust and slow burn. There’s a back and forth pull between them other as they continue to fall for one another while denying that they can have a future. Grayson isn’t sure just how he could ever love another woman and Sidney struggles to show him the way when she knows she isn’t staying for long. There’s sacrifice and heartbreak in this story. But don’t let it deter you. This is a story about overcoming the fear of losing it all again and seeing if the chance at true love really is worth the risk.

COMBUST – A K. Bromberg Review

img_4290

OMG you think you know heatbreaking romance…not until you’ve read Combust! Grady is loved by all; ladies man, town hero, and buddy to all who know him. So when his friend’s little sister needs a place to crash and escape from her life for a bit, he agrees. What he hadn’t planned on was a siren with a smile to twist his head around and make his heart pound. I instantly fell in love with Grady’s humor and flirting. He make be a hometown hero, but he’s got aches in his heart that most don’t see besides his brothers. But somehow sweet and sexy songwriter Dylan pries him out of his dark dreams and into a reality he can face.

Bromberg truly made their story a slow burning desire. There’s a spark between the two of them that ignites off the page the instant they meet. I was so adorably intrigued by them fumbling around their feelings for one another. Dylan’s used to putting her life on hold for another man. And he escape from her ex leads her right in to the arms of a known Lothario. But she can’t help the pull she constantly feels towards him. So what harm could come from some fun in-between the sheets? Turns out that Dylan bargained for more than just a frisky firefighter; she got the boy next door with a heart of gold who surprisingly needs saving of his own.

Where ther’s humor in Combust there is also a deeply important story of Grady and his past. Sometimes the lives of everyday heroes can lead to tragedy. And those left behind can either pick up the pieces or let them continue to fall apart. Grady seems to be stuck in the middle of his emotions. He can’t run from his past, especially when it blazes in his face. But how can two people afraid to take the plunge in to true love overcome their fears? You’ll have to read on your own to find out because I am not spoiling much else in my next 5 star read review!

Combust, an all new sexy and emotional standalone by K. Bromberg is Available NOW!

From New York Times Bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes the second standalone book in the Everyday Heroes series. Just how hot will firefighter Grady Malone turn up the heat?

By the contract she signed that obligates her to work with him until the songs for his new album are complete.

By her agent when she asked Dylan to keep their breakup on the down-low.

Preoccupied with a text on my phone from my agent, I walk into the kitchen and suck in a breath when I come face to back with Grady. He’s standing with his hand on the refrigerator door, head leaned inside, and his back fully exposed to me. It’s broad and strong and scarred immeasurably.

I stare.

I can’t help it. The marks are a dizzying array of dark and light and ridged and smooth. And they’re undeniably burns. Goosebumps chase over my skin as I imagine the pain he must have endured when he got those. I think of his habit of wearing unbuttoned shirts but never going shirtless and the hint of scars just visible above his collar that I never could have imagined led to this roadmap to hell on his back.

A part of me instinctively wants to reach out to touch them, bring some kind of comfort. It sounds ridiculous, even to me, but that doesn’t abate the urge.

“Not pretty, huh? Get a good look while you can.” His voice is gruff as his spine stiffens and body stills, emotion woven through the words.

“Thank God not all of you is pretty. I was beginning to feel majorly insecure having to live with perfection like you,” I say off the cuff, trying to make this situation less awkward. My attempt to settle the sudden tension sparking in the air around us.

“Perfection?” he asks as he turns to face me with a smile that masks the emotion swirling in his eyes.

“Yeah. You have scars. I have mermaid thighs.”

“Mermaid thighs?” He laughs. “What in the world are you talking about?”

“Thighs that touch from the top all the way to my knees.” I shrug as if it doesn’t bug me, as if I’m not highlighting one of the insults Tara threw at me. It’s a whole lot easier to make fun of myself so long as it puts him at ease.

“Do you ever give yourself a break?”

Do you?” I ask the question, sparking a silent battle of wills as we stare at each other and wonder what to say next about the other’s insecurities. Coming up empty, I shift gears. “I think there is some type of rule about how many abs are fair for a guy to have when the rest of us are just struggling to find one of them.”

His smile rings more genuine as he steps toward me, and I step back, my hips leaning against the counter now.

“Is that so?” His voice lowers as his eyes flick to my lips and then back up. “I’m sure you have some under your shirt there.”

Why does the simple action make it seem so hard to swallow?

He takes another step.

“What are you building outside?”

“A playroom.”

A nervous chuckle falls from my lips as I think of all of the versions of playrooms I’ve read about in my romance books. My cheeks stain red as I imagine Grady with a flogger in one hand standing beside a St. Andrew’s Cross.

“A playroom?”

“Yeah.” He takes a step closer so we’re breathing the same air, his voice husky enough to cause every part of my body to grow alert. “A playroom. You know . . . a pool table. Foosball. A real man cave.”

I exhale a shaky sigh, suddenly more than aware that he’s so close, shirtless, sweaty, and smelling like sun and soap mixed together. But it’s his eyes that make my thoughts falter. There’s an intensity to them I don’t expect from the perpetually cheerful Grady Malone.

“Ah, that kind of playroom . . .” But my words trail off as he steps even closer and braces his hands on the counter on either side of me. I can hear his intake of breath. The music floating in from outside. The pound of my pulse in my ears.

“Hey, Dyl?”

“Yes?” Our eyes hold, my lips fall lax.

“I need you to open up.”

What?” I question as his hand brushes against my hip and his fingers pull on the drawer handle I’m standing in front of.

“I need the bottle opener. You’re standing in front of the drawer it’s in.” His lips spread into a full-fledged grin as I scramble away from the counter and, of course, run smack dab into the hardness, all six foot plus of him.

And then I rebound off him again in a flustered state that has him laughing and me stuttering. “Sorry. I wasn’t—I didn’t . . .” His arms hold on to my biceps to steady me, which prompts me to look up and meet his eyes.

“We need to stop meeting like this,” he murmurs, the heat of his breath hitting my lips.

“We do.” Brilliant, Dylan. Freaking brilliant response. “I’ve gotta . . . I’ve gotta get back to . . . to writing.”
