TWICE BITTEN – A Lynsay Sands Review & Excerpt Reveal

How does Lynsay Sands continue to impress dozens of books later in the iconic Argeneau series! I loved this novel (and series) simply because it sets itself apart from other typical vampire romances. The characters and their immortality are a focus of the story but not the main plot. In Twice Bitten we get to have danger at every turn unrelated to Elspeth’s abilities!

Elspeth’s finally out of her own after decades under her mothers control. But within weeks she returns home to find not only her mother but her two sisters as well. And as soon as they arrive, it seems trouble arrives with them. With multiple attempts on her life and the lives of her friends and family, Elspeth has to come to terms that all is not what it seems. And sometimes the past can haunt you in many different ways.

Wyatt is entranced by the woman who’s moved in to his mothers new apartment. They have a past but Elspeth doesn’t seem to remember their night of blissful years ago. And there’s more secrets hiding behind this beauty’s eyes. Wyatt’s trained to protect but he never planned on protecting an immortal whom he’s fallen in love with.

Once again, Sands impresses with strong, independent female leads. Elspeth is not afraid to take charge of her own life even in the face of death. The twists and turns throughout Twice Bitten will leave you on the edge of your seat wondering just who could be after Elspeth and even Wyatt. Mix in some classic humor and of course the sexy aspect and this classic vampire novel belongs in your TBR pile!

Thrilling, witty, and oh-so-sexy, Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau novel brings together a beautiful Immortal and the man who is her destiny…

For someone who’s been around for over a hundred and forty years, immortal Elspeth Argeneau hasn’t done a whole lot of living. Now that she’s moved away from her controlling mother, she’s tracking down rogue vampires and enjoying some overdue freedom. A fling would be fun. A life mate can wait. Yet to Elspeth’s surprise, her landlady’s hot grandson checks both boxes.
Wyatt fell instantly in love with Elspeth four years ago. He’s stunned to run into her again, especially as she has no memory of him. Then again, there are a lot of things about Elspeth that don’t make sense, like the miraculous speed with which her wounds heal. And the chemistry that transforms every touch into an explosion of desire. But with mysterious “accidents” besieging Elspeth, the ex-Special Forces soldier appoints himself her bodyguard. But time is running out to uncover the truth about her enemies—and rediscover the man determined to love her for eternity.
Each book in this series can be read as a standalone story.

“Wyatt?” she said, surprised at how breathless her voice was.

She was panting, Elspeth realized. The man hadn’t even touched her and she was panting like an overheated dog . . . or a horny one.

“I’m sorry,” Wyatt growled, and turned away to quickly search the room, and then spotting the bath towel over the towel rack, he grabbed it and turned back to offer it to her.

Elspeth reached for it, but froze when their hands touched. For a minute, they just remained like that, both silent and still as shockwaves rolled through them, and then Wyatt cleared his throat. His voice was husky as he said, “I know you’re not ready for a life mate, and I-“

That was as far as he got before Elspeth finished taking the towel from him, let it drop to the floor, and reached for him instead.

IMMORTAL NIGHTS – A Lynsay Sands Reviw

**ARC received from Edelweiss for an honest review**

The Argeneau Series was where my romance reading really began. (Lynsay Sands and Katie MacAlister were my first obsessions!) Lynsay Sands has one of the greatest explanations for vampirism (or immortals in this case) that I have ever come across and I love telling fellow romance readers about her! I got to read Dante’s and Tomasso’s books back to back and Tomasso may be my favorite of the twins.

Tomasso is held captive in a cargo hold by an evil doctor/scientist’s crazy henchmen. Little do they know that Abigail is in the back hiding from them as well after they’ve hired her best friend, Jet, on an “emergency” flight.

We go from airplane, to stranded on an island, to island villas as Abigail and Tomasso repeatedly have to rescue one another. Tomasso’s inner dialogue was so passionate about Abigail and her ability to stay calm under pressure and her ingenuity to survive. I love seeing the male character in novels become dependent not the female character and admire her for it; rather than admonish her for thinking him weak.

Abigail struggles throughout most of the book with waking up in different locations. If you don’t read the Argeneau Series that won’t make sense to you. But if you do..hooo boy you know why! ….Ok non-readers I’ll let you in on a secret. In Sands’ world, the immortals have one true life mate that they cannot control or read their mind. This makes them a perfect pair (among other things that I won’t go into detail about). One of the benefits of life mates however is shared pleasure. That’s right…they can feel one another’s pleasure. And when it gets to the breaking point? They pass out from it! Trust me this makes for some hilarious scenes. When you go to read just pay attention to blood bags….its one of the best scenes in the book.

Abigail and Tomasso also discover how similar the two of them are when it comes time for Tomasso to reveal what he truly is; immortal. Abigail’s years of studying to become a doctor lead her to figuring out, mostly, how Tomasso’s family are all immortal and all the side effects it causes. Not only are both of them strong and supportive of one another; they both realize that the other is interested in science and how things work. Once again the life mate bond is reinforced.

As usual others from the Argeneau clan enter the picture near the end of our story; including the newly life-mated Dante and Mary (also a great story!). As always Lucian and Marguerite have their appearances. And it seems the match maker Marguerite has a plan for Jet…… can’t wait to see what happens in the future!

Until next review!!! Happy Bingeing Beauties!
